Waatokok ("we", "us") operates waatokok.com, a site for finding and sharing recipes based on ingredients you have on hand. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you register. We never store your password in plain text.

Content you submit: recipes, photos, ratings, and comments you post.

Usage data: a one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to count unique views on a recipe and prevent counting the same visitor twice. We never store your raw IP address.

Cookies: a cookie to remember your language preference, and a session cookie to keep you logged in. Neither is used for advertising tracking on our part.

To operate your account: authenticate you, let you submit and manage recipes, and send you transactional emails (email confirmation, password reset, and a welcome message).

To improve the site: view counts help us understand which recipes are popular.

To translate content: if you browse in Spanish, recipe text may be machine-translated so you can read it in your preferred language.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site, each of which processes data only as needed to provide their service to us: Resend (sends transactional emails like password resets and confirmations), DeepL (machine-translates recipe text), and Microsoft Azure (hosts our database and stores uploaded recipe photos).

If you see advertisements on the site, they're served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies to show you relevant ads. You can learn about Google's practices and your options at google.com/policies/technologies/ads.

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account or data deleted, contact us using the details below.

Waatokok is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
